What is AMI?

Advanced Meter Infrastructure (AMI) is the remote collection of consumption data from customers' utility (Electric, Gas or Water) meters using radio frequency, telephony, power-line or satellite communications technologies.

The network also provides in-premise capabilities, real time monitoring for SCADA (supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and load management, optional internet capabilities and 2 way communication.
